I took a little bit of time this week to read this piece in The Atlantic that advocates for urban and suburban residents to close off local streets to cars, at least some of the time, in order to foster better relationships among locals.
RochesterChurch Street in downtown Burlington Vermont is wonderful without cars. In particular, the downtown shopping district in Dublin Ireland is amazing, and no cars.

ZerofooEV trends don’t mean much to me. What does get my attention are the number of auto “executives” that seemingly know little about the trends in their industry and customer preferences.
Lou_BCMy neighborhood had streets closed a block at a time for repaving. Vehicles weren't allowed during repaving and after as it set. .......... We all survived....... Some make this idea sound like the zombie apocalypse. Eye roll.
ZerofooI’ll bet all of these city dwellers will be the first to complain when Amazon, Door Dash, Uber and Lyft all cease operations in their city when the roads are gone.
